Program:
Day 1 Cusco / Mollepata
Pick up from the hostel, transportation to Mollepata, meeting with the muleteers, breakfast, start of the expedition towards the Soraypampa camp 4,000 m, impressive view of the Umantay snow-capped mountain. (5/6 hours) (B, L, D)
Day 2 Soraypampa / Challway
Difficult day of hiking, since we will overcome a pass of more than 4,000 m, we will be able to appreciate the Salkantay snow-capped mountain, and then descend to the edge of the jungle and camp. (6/7 hours) (B, L, D)
Day 3 Chaullay / Beach
Very early breakfast, walk and visit to the hot springs, tasting of tropical fruits, and appreciation of coffee crops among other plantations of the tropical region. (6 hours) (B, L, D)
Day 4 Beach / Aguas Calientes / Machu Picchu / Lodging
Travel to the town of Santa Teresa, appreciation of tropical plantations, walk to Aguas Calientes, train to Aguas Calientes, overnight in hostel. (5/6 hours) (B, L)
Day 5 Aguas Clientes / Machu Picchu / Cusco
Very early breakfast, travel to the archaeological group of Machu Picchu, guided tour of the enclosures, squares, sacred fountains, temples, towers, the agricultural and urban sector. We will have free time to visit and ascend Huayna Picchu 2,667 m. In the afternoon we will go down to Aguas Calientes by bus (altitude 2,050 m) where we will have lunch, and then we will return to the city of Cusco by train. (B)
